Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Senior Acquisition SME to provide advisory support to USSOCOM PEO-Maritime. You will guide acquisition strategy, lifecycle execution, and rapid fielding across surface and undersea platforms, while aligning with DoD directives and safety standards.

You will serve as a trusted advisor to PMs, support milestone decisions, and help shape contracting strategies using OTAs, BAAs, and CSOs for rapid capability delivery to the SOF community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Systems Management or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 12+ years in defense acquisition program management, systems engineering, or technical advisory roles.
• Maritime program experience with combatant craft, subsystems, USVs/UUVs, or diving tech.
• Direct experience in USSOCOM/SOF orgs and familiarity with their acquisition authorities.
• Expert knowledge of DoD 5000-series, FAR/DFARS, and Section 804 processes.
• Active TS/SCI clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop Acquisition Strategy, APs, and LCSP aligned with AAF and rapid fielding directives.
• Advise PMs across surface, undersea, and autonomous programs.
• Support milestone decisions, program reviews, and senior briefings.
• Guide rapid prototyping (Section 804) and transition to fielded systems.
• Advise on contracting using FAR vehicles and OTAs, BAAs, CSOs.
• Coordinate DT&E/OT&E and ensure safety, seaworthiness, and SUBSAFE compliance.
• Assist in PPBE processes and program budget documentation.
