Job summary

Boater’s World Marine Centers in Lake Placid, FL is seeking an experienced Certified Marine Technician / Master Technician to join a high-volume service department. You’ll diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues, perform repairs on major outboard brands, and lead diagnostic work with OEM tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional marine technician experience required.
• OEM certifications strongly preferred.
• A-Tech, Master Technician, or equivalent high-level dealership experience preferred.
• Advanced diagnostic capabilities required.
• Experience with modern outboard engines.
• Experience with Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, MerCruiser, or similar brands.
• Strong knowledge of marine electrical, fuel, cooling, steering, charging, control, and rigging systems.
• Experience using OEM diagnostic software, scan tools, multimeters, compression testers, and service information.
• Ability to independently manage difficult repairs from diagnosis through completion.

Responsibilities

• Independently diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, fuel, cooling, steering, trim, charging, and performance concerns.
• Utilize OEM diagnostic software, scan tools, manuals, wiring diagrams and procedures.
• Interpret fault codes, live data, engine history and electrical readings.
• Troubleshoot intermittent concerns and identify root causes.
• Perform water testing and sea trials as needed.
• Provide accurate repair recommendations based on findings.
• Perform repairs on modern outboard engines per OEM specs.
• Complete repowers and rigging installations as needed.
• Collaborate with Service Advisors to communicate findings and required repairs.
