Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Test Quality Engineer to design, validate, and optimize production-test processes for complex semiconductor equipment. You will work on RF, UHV, gas manifolds, and precision optical paths, ensuring tests meet strict cleanroom and SEMI standards before shipment.

The role requires 7–10+ years in relevant high-tech manufacturing, hands-on diagnostic tooling, and collaboration with NP I and hardware teams in a full-time on-site setting.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical/Systems/Mechatronics or related field.
• 7-10+ years in semiconductor/manufacturing or high-tech hardware.
• Experience with RF, UHV, gas manifolds, or precision optical alignment.
• Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma methodologies.
• Familiarity with SEMI standards and ISO 9001 compliance.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools (Minitab/JMP) and test development tools (Mayan, Python).

Responsibilities

• Define, validate, and document new manufacturing test plans and fixture designs during NPI.
• Develop, pilot, and troubleshoot automated test scripts and software for tool-level diagnostics.
• Lead failure investigations (8D, CAPA, 5 Whys) for defects on the assembly line.
• Monitor FPY data, identify trends, act on anomalies to improve yield.
• Perform MSA and Gage R&R to ensure test station reliability.
• Ensure test protocols meet ISO cleanroom requirements (ISO 4 / Class 100).
• Collaborate with NPI Design groups to integrate test access paths and diagnostic nodes.
