Job summary

Actalent in Irvine, CA is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Test Engineer to lead and optimize automated test systems for insulin pump manufacturing. You will own FAT systems on the production floor, developing Python-based test automation, and collaborating with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing and Operations.

This hands-on role requires troubleshooting across hardware, software, and processes, plus fixture design and data analysis to improve yield and throughput in a regulated medical device environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
• 5+ years in manufacturing test engineering with automated systems.
• Strong Python scripting for test automation and data analysis.
• Experience with test hardware integration (DAQ, sensors, PLCs).
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and processes.
• Experience in regulated medical device or similar industries.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain manufacturing test systems on the production floor.
• Develop and troubleshoot Python scripts for test automation.
• Validate functional criteria (motor performance, current draw, assembly).
• Improve test systems for reliability and throughput.
• Analyze test results to identify trends and failures.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations.
• Create and maintain documentation for test methods and fixtures.
• Support new product introductions and scale-up.
• Onsite hands-on engineering on the production floor.
