Job summary

HBD Industries is seeking an experienced automation leader to identify, justify, and deploy robotic solutions that boost safety, quality, and productivity across our U.S. manufacturing footprint.

You will own the robotics automation roadmap, partner with plant leadership, and manage capital projects from concept to production stabilization. The role requires travel and the ability to influence multi-site teams, with home bases in the southern California, North Carolina, or Georgia regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years leading manufacturing robotics and automation projects in industrial production.
• Proven experience identifying, justifying, and deploying robotic automation solutions from concept through commissioning.
• Experience developing capital project business cases, ROI analyses, equipment specifications, and roadmaps.
• Demonstrated success managing automation vendors, system integrators, contractors, and capital equipment suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize manufacturing automation opportunities across multiple plants.
• Lead automation and robotics projects from concept through commissioning and production stabilization.
• Develop business cases, ROI analyses, budgets, and project plans.
• Manage system integrators, equipment suppliers, and external automation partners.
• Lead the implementation of robotic work cells, machine tending, material handling, vision systems, palletizing, and other advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and labor utilization.
