Job summary

Crane Pumps & Systems seeks a Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineer – QMS/PPAP to be the quality engine for zero-defect manufacturing. This on-site role in Piqua, OH collaborates with Engineering, Operations, and suppliers to own the Quality Management System and drive CAPA closure with measurable improvements.

Responsibilities include PPAP/FAI oversight, PFMEA and control plans, data-driven supplier quality, and relentless problem solving. Growth and continuous improvement are core to the role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • 2–3+ years in a manufacturing or quality role.
  • Proven root cause and problem-solving capability.
  • Fluency in drawings/specifications and GD&T.
  • Evidence of data-driven improvement.
  • Strong communication—written and verbal.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 familiarity.
  • Hands-on with PPAP, FAI, CAPA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and MSA.

Responsibilities

  • Own and elevate the Quality Management System to meet regulatory and audit expectations.
  • Lead end-to-end CAPA—from containment to verification of effectiveness.
  • Oversee PPAP submissions and FAI to validate parts and processes.
  • Develop robust inspection and test methods with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Run root cause investigations and implement lasting corrective actions.
  • Improve supplier quality through data, feedback, and partnerships.
  • Turn metrics into action by analyzing trends for improvements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to lift capability.
