Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineer to lead plant-wide quality initiatives and drive Lean/Six Sigma improvements on the manufacturing floor in Decatur, Alabama. The role collaborates cross-functionally to protect customer satisfaction and validates designs and processes through testing and data-driven analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Seven or more years of experience in manufacturing operations, quality, new product introduction, and/or process improvement.
• Extensive experience interpreting data and solving problems in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Effective communication, organization, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and eliminate root causes of product and process quality issues in collaboration with operations and cross-functional teams.
• Define and monitor Critical to Quality characteristics and analyze complex data trends to identify systemic issues and lead corrective actions.
• Validate new designs and modifications through dimensional inspection, functional testing, production trials, capability studies, and operator feedback.
• Drive proactive problem-solving and elevate critical issues as needed to ensure timely resolution.
• Lead quality improvement projects from initiation through completion, delivering measurable cost, quality, scrap, yield, and defective-rate improvements.
• Champion Lean and Six Sigma methods to strengthen the Lean Production System and reduce the cost of quality.
