Job summary

Commercial Sewing, Inc. in Torrington, CT is seeking an Experienced Manufacturing Engineer to improve production processes, support new product launches, and drive continuous improvement in a high-mix, semi-custom environment.

This hands-on role bridges engineering and operations. You will own process optimization, assist with NPI, tooling and CAD work, analyze data, document procedures, and collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Quality and R&D to deliver safer, faster, cost-efficient

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field, or equivalent.
5+ years hands-on manufacturing/process engineering experience.
Experience in high-mix/configurable production environments.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

Analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and variability.
Lead improvements to increase throughput, yield, and cost efficiency.
Perform time studies, workflow analysis, and line balancing.
Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma).
Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to support daily production.
Monitor performance and implement corrective actions.
Assist in defining manufacturing processes, work instructions, and tooling.
Design and update tooling, fixtures, and CAD drawings.
Create and maintain technical process documentation and SOPs.
Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and R&D on process improvements.
