Job summary

Abbott Des Plaines, IL is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer to provide engineering support for equipment and processes in manufacturing operations. You will develop and implement upgrades to reduce costs, improve quality and efficiency, and lead cross-functional project teams to deliver engineered solutions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in any Engineering discipline or equivalent experience; Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Experience.
• 4-6 years in a mid-volume manufacturing environment; medical device manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with equipment specification and procurement for process and packaging manufacturing solutions, aseptic filling, capping, torquing, label printing, application and inspection systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively and engage cross-functional teams on equipment installation and qualification.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the site Quality System.
• Lead capital projects from design to commissioning of manufacturing equipment.
• Support long-range capital planning and capital expenditure requests.
• Coordinate with suppliers to define requirements, budgets and timelines.
• Coordinate equipment qualification and validation activities for regulatory compliance.
• Investigate and resolve equipment performance, reliability and yield issues.
• Create and manage Quality System documentation for equipment history.
• Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, service providers and external technical resources.
