Job description
Overview

Rapiscan Systems designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products are used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for weapons, explosives and other contraband. Rapiscan Systems security and inspection devices can be found in a wide range of locations such as airports, border crossings, railway stations, sea ports and terminals, government and military installations and nuclear facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Develops, maintains, and ensures compliance with process control plans, quality assurance plans, and procedures.
  • Provide day-to-day support of processes, provides criticality analysis, and monitors key controlled parameters.
  • Analyze existing manufacturing and test processes to ensure they are focused on quality and efficiency best practices.
  • Introduce methods and practices that will enhance the productivity of the production cell while reducing cost and eliminating waste.
  • Use prior experience to identify tooling and/or machinery to Poke Yoke operator dependent processes.
  • Upgrade systems and processes with new technology.
  • Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations, and network performance.
  • Quickly resolve issues and delays in production.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations.
  • Uphold the company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering - electrical or mechanical engineering preferred
  • 8-10 years electro-mechanical assembly process development and manufacturing experience
  • 5 years LEAN manufacturing experience - strong engagement or facilitator
  • Knowledgeable of implementing automation or semi-automated processes into the workplace
  • Experience in facility and process design/layout
  • Highly motivated individual who is passionate about driving continuous improvement
