Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. in Indiana seeks an experienced manufacturing supervisor to lead a team in a demanding production environment.

You will mentor staff, align supervisor goals with corporate strategies, and drive continuous improvement using Lean tools and robust data analysis. The role emphasizes strong communication, problem solving, and collaboration with engineering to support new product launches, safety, and world-class manufacturing standards.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of supervisory experience
• Ability to model, mentor and teach SEL Values
• Proven ability to communicate professionally to diverse audiences
• Prioritize, organize and delegate work; remove obstacles
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and product flow
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and department systems (Lotus Notes, Dynamics AX, SQS)
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
• Ability to learn new skills and improve processes
• Team-oriented collaboration
• Background check satisfactory to SEL
• Negative drug test results

Responsibilities

• Actively monitor process indicators to meet department objectives
• Provide regular employee feedback, mentor and coach staff
• Mentor supervisors and align goals with organizational objectives
• Identify change initiatives and engage employees in changes
• Oversee department training needs and programs
• Address personnel issues and resolve conflicts
• Audit department processes and implement action plans for gaps
• Coordinate with engineering and participate in new product launches
• Justify staffing and capital needs through data reporting
• Teach and apply Lean Manufacturing tools to others
• Promote safety initiatives and standards
• Model and apply SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing Principles
• Understand, Create, Simplify
• Other duties as assigned
