Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Pontiac, IL seeks a senior Manufacturing Engineering leader to oversee end-to-end processes in a high-volume, high-mix plant.

You will guide a large, multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, capable, cost-competitive operations with lean and continuous improvement at the core. Responsibilities include managing manufacturing processes, implementing process changes to improve yield, runtime, quality, and cost; supporting engineering and operations; and driving asset strategies

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering.
• At least 10 years in high-volume, high-complexity manufacturing with engineering/operations leadership.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process design.
• Experience leading large multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversees development, support and improvement of manufacturing processes and tooling.
• Lead end-to-end manufacturing engineering leadership in a high-volume factory.
• Manage resources for manufacturing engineers and support personnel.
• Provide ongoing support for manufacturing problems and deficiencies; troubleshoot complex production issues.
• Lead asset sustainability and replacement strategy for manufacturing assets.
