Job summary

GKN Aerospace in Wellington, KS seeks a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to develop, introduce and sustain manufacturing solutions for Zero Defect Manufacturing during serial production.

You will plan, document and support production with build instructions, tooling, and process improvements across North America. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering and 3–5 years in Manufacturing Engineering, with ITAR/EAR compliance; familiarity with CNC, NDT, CMM, GD&T, RCCA and Lean Six-Sigma; experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial) or in lieu of this 5+ years experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering role.
• Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Responsibilities

• Introduce technical improvement initiatives for sites in North America.
• Familiar with shop safety, creating/updating shop travelers, work instructions, BOMs and change documents.
• Experience in quoting the manufacturing process to win new work packages.
• Experience with CNC, NDT, CMM, Assembly and Paint processes; GD&T; RCCA; Lean Six-Sigma.
