Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead turbopump assembly development for the Archimedes engine. This role supports the Director of Manufacturing Engineering and Production to deliver revisions and meet leadership expectations.

The candidate will work with propulsion teams to drive design for manufacture, process improvements, and reliable production. 5+ years in heavy manufacturing is required, with an emphasis on aerospace materials and DFx practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a heavy development manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of fluid and structural mechanics fundamentals.
• Knowledge in manufacturing processes for aerospace materials.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design reviews as an expert in manufacturability and quality.
• Design, develop, and implement tooling for production to improve quality, delivery, and cost.
• Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.
• Collaborate with propulsion assembly technicians for alignment and support.
• Perform Value Stream Mapping and Method of Manufacture planning.
