Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Principal Manufacturing Engineer in the Weymouth, MA area to lead continuous improvement on manufacturing equipment and processes. You will design, test and implement improvements, validate equipment and support maintenance on efficiency, scrap and quality issues.

Responsibilities include budget control, capital project oversight and cross‑functional coordination to meet schedules while adhering to EH&S and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of experience in related field preferred.
• Previous injection molding experience preferred.
• Understanding of FDA regulations surrounding the manufacturing of medical devices, GMPs and process validations would be an asset.
• Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools preferred.
• Understanding and application of mechanical, electro-mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic technologies and equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost saving plans with schedules that minimize production interference and manage quotes/funding.
• Establish and manage project budgets and forecast spending.
• Oversee major capital project development and installation.
• Assist production on equipment problems and develop plans to prevent recurrences.
• Develop and execute process validations and evaluations for process capability.
• Perform daily checks on assigned production lines and coordinate new product starts with all departments.
• Develop machine specifications and manage outside vendors to meet specs and schedules.
• Follow EH&S procedures and participate in root cause analysis and improvements.
