Job summary

System One in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III for a 6-month contract to translate engineering intent into scalable production processes. You will develop work instructions, support DFMA studies, and optimize manufacturing for cost, quality, and schedule.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing or production engineering, and strong CAD/office software skills. On-site work with potential for process improvements in aerospace hardware.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or related discipline.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 5+ years in manufacturing or production engineering.
• Experience defining manufacturing process flows and selecting production equipment.
• Proficiency with CAD and MS Office tools.
• Experience in aerospace, avionics, or related hardware is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define how to prepare hardware for test, qualification, and flight.
• Translate engineering intent into manufacturing work instructions.
• Identify and deploy new manufacturing methods to improve quality and schedule.
• Conduct FMEA studies to tighten feedback loops between design and build.
• Develop process control measures and perform statistical analysis.
• Interface with suppliers to ensure timely, within-budget fabrication and delivery.
• Lead DFMA and DFA reviews and approve manufacturing drawings.
