Job summary

SAIC seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Middletown, RI to oversee fabrication of electro-mechanical systems and manage manufacturing processes for high-quality, cost-effective products. You will collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability, develop efficient workflows, and manage materials, tools, and equipment.

You will drive continuous improvement, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and safety while aligning project timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or 5+ years of experience accepted in lieu.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance.
• Experience in assembling, machining, and testing electro-mechanical systems.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail with ability to multitask.
• Ability to read, interpret, and create assembly drawings, engineering specs, and electrical schematics.
• Proficiency with metrology tools and measurement devices.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for electro-mechanical systems.
• Create SOPs and work instructions for fabrication of electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability (DFM).
• Participate in design reviews to provide feedback on materials, tolerances, and layouts.
• Oversee manufacturing plans, schedules, and resource allocation to meet timelines.
• Direct technicians on the shop floor and maintain proper fabrication practices.
• Maintain process documentation and traceability for components and tests.
• Design, develop, and procure tools, jigs, and fixtures for fabrication.
• Lead inspections and testing to verify quality, initiate corrective actions.
• Perform cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Ensure safety protocols and standards are followed.
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous process improvement.
