Flux Marine is a high-growth marine technology start-up that is designing electric outboard motors from the ground up without using legacy combustion engine parts. This allows our motors to maximize efficiency and minimize maintenance without compromising performance vs gas engines. Our technology has many applications including commercial, recreational, yacht tender, and defense markets.

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in metal casting processes to join our production team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our production processes, and will work together with design, test, and QC engineering to continually improve and iterate the manufacturability of our electric propulsion systems. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong technical understanding of the product design and manufacturing/assembly processes for electromechanical systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, test, and quality teams to enhance manufacturability and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support the production floor with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and process improvements.
  • Design and implement production and assembly lines for new and existing products including layout, tooling selection, capital equipment selection and commissioning.
  • Create and maintain detailed work instructions, process documentation, and production layouts.
  • Develop and track KPIs to report on progress to the management team.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
  • Work closely with foundry and tooling vendors to validate patterns, molds and core.
  • Develop improvements to internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines.
  • Drive the adoption of Lean Six Sigma principles across production and fabrication processes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional manufacturing experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing manufacturing lines.
  • Strong project and personnel management skills.
  • Familiar with ISO standards.
  • Experience in marine, automotive, or aerospace industries preferred
  • Experience with high voltage systems is a plus.
