Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, in Sylmar, California, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly and Installation) at Experienced or Senior level (Level 3 or 4) to join our team. The role focuses on developing and executing production processes, with opportunities to drive process improvements and tooling strategies in a high-precision manufacturing environment.

The candidate should have a BS in engineering or related field and 5+ years of related work

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years of experience in assembly or mechanical work
• Must be able to occasionally travel domestically, work flexible hours, overtime and occasional weekends when necessary

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements production processes and generates/maintains process documentation to ensure correct and consistent process application in production
• Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions
• Participates in gated process/product reviews and presents PFMECA and process/training readiness information to both internal and external customers
• Leads and implements manufacturing plans and assists in developing and maintaining manufacturing training requirements
• Supports definition of required tooling methodologies to ensure consistent process application
• Conducts producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements
• Assists in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices
• Identifies leading edge technologies, materials or process improvements and targeted automation to improve ergonomics, safety, cost, and schedule
• Develops and monitors SPC and process paretos to identify and correct process drift and identify and implement continuous improvements to product and process
• Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule

Education
