Job summary

ESAero in San Luis Obispo, CA seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to translate designs into manufacturable assemblies and optimize production processes. You will develop assembly documentation, establish work instructions, and improve manufacturing efficiency in a collaborative setting with design, procurement, and QA teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in manufacturing or mechanical engineering and 5–9 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering.
• This position requires a minimum of 5–9 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment is necessary.
• Ability to extract manufacturing information from a computerized inventory control system.
• Oversee or be responsible for the work of less senior positions assigned to the program or project.
• Knowledge of transitioning prototypes into production builds.
• Must be able to work in a small, effective manufacturing team.
• Knowledge to translate an engineered design into build instructions for assembly and test.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for the company’s manufacturing operations.
• Develop and maintain assembly documentation and work instructions.
• Represent manufacturing interests in the Integrated Product Team.
• Partition new products into assembl ies for efficient build with minimal variation.
• Provide feedback for DFMA improvements and new processes/technology.
• Ensure Design for Manufacture principles are used in product design.
• Define and design assembly fixturing to improve build efficiency and quality.
• Lead root cause corrective actions from NCR data and process improvements.
