Job description

We're partnered with a rapidly growing, well-funded aerospace and defence technology company developing next-generation hardware systems for critical applications.

The business is entering a significant phase of growth, investing heavily in advanced manufacturing capabilities and expanding its engineering teams to support the transition from early-stage production into high-volume manufacturing.

The Opportunity

We're looking for Senior Manufacturing Engineers to take real ownership of complex manufacturing processes, equipment and hardware assemblies.

This is a highly hands-on, 0-to-1 manufacturing role. You won't simply maintain established production lines; you'll help develop new processes, build production capability and scale manufacturing from the ground up.

What You Will Do
  • Own manufacturing processes for critical mechanical and hardware subsystems, from initial development through production scale-up.
  • Develop and commission manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures and assembly processes.
  • Take prototype or pilot-stage processes into repeatable, production-ready operations, improving capacity, throughput, quality and reliability.
  • Work hands-on with fabrication, assembly, testing, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with design engineering on manufacturability and production readiness (DFM/DFA).
  • Create and refine build instructions, manufacturing bills of materials (mBOMs), process specifications and test procedures.
  • Drive challenging technical problems independently and own measurable outcomes as new capability comes online.
What We Are Looking For
  • Approximately 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience; senior profiles typically bring 5-15 years.
  • A track record of personally building, launching or scaling manufacturing capacity, not just sustaining an established line.
  • Experience taking complex hardware from prototype builds through equipment commissioning and production ramp-up.
  • Strong practical capability across tooling, assembly, fabrication, test, process development and troubleshooting.
  • Background in aerospace, defence, automotive, robotics, industrial equipment or a comparable advanced manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
  • A proactive, ownership-driven approach with clear examples of manufacturing improvements delivered.
  • A plus: experience standing up a new line, expanding production capacity, or working with composites, precision machining or specialty materials.

This is a full-time, fully onsite role in Torrance, California or Rio Rancho, New Mexico, five days per week. Daily start and end times are flexible, with occasional travel depending on project requirements.

Eligible candidates may receive relocation assistance through sign-on support. You will own significant manufacturing projects and help establish new production operations at an important stage of growth.
