Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Minnetonka, MN. Join Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business unit to support a new product launch and ongoing production of high‑impact medical devices in atrial fibrillation therapy.
Responsibilities
- Lead Operations Readiness for the launch of new EP products.
- Collaborate with Research & Development and Process Development to transfer designs, build operational knowledge, and create ramp plans.
- Work with Production, Supply Chain, and Engineering to develop new line introduction plans, including equipment ordering, qualification, and validation.
- Drive cross‑functional initiatives for process, product, and equipment improvement.
- Mentor and supervise other engineers and technicians.
- Conduct Process FMEAs, Process Validations, and improve product quality, labor efficiency, and throughput using Lean manufacturing concepts.
- Coordinate design, procurement, build, and debugging of tooling, machinery, and test equipment.
- Partner with Product Development for Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
- Provide engineering support for day‑to‑day production needs.
- Maintain proactive communication with cross‑functional partners and provide front‑line engineering guidance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical, or equivalent engineering field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience, with proven process development or manufacturing engineering background.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated leadership capability and the ability to motivate peers.
- Proven ability to lead and influence change creatively.
- Willingness to travel approximately 15%, including international trips.
