Job summary

Abbott in Minnetonka is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to lead a team of engineers and technicians supporting CRM catheter manufacturing in a regulated medical device environment. You will drive daily engineering support, process stability, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality products.

You will oversee process ownership, validations (IQ/OQ/PQ), change control, and CAPA activities, while collaborating with Operations, Quality,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) required.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering within medical devices or a regulated industry.
  • Experience supporting complex assemblies or catheter-based device manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability (team lead, project lead, or formal supervisor).

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers/technicians supporting CRM catheter manufacturing.
  • Prioritize and assign engineering work to meet production, quality, and capacity goals.
  • Oversee process ownership, documentation, validations (IQ/OQ/PQ), and change control.
  • Provide hands‑on support for line issues, root‑cause investigations, and CAPA activities.
  • Analyze process data (yield, scrap, SPC, CPK) to improve performance and reduce variation.
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation, tooling, and process optimization projects.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with FDA QSR, ISO 13485, and Abbott procedures.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain to support product and business objectives.

The Opportunity

Our Minnetonka location is seeking a high caliber, motivated, self-driven engineering leader to join our operations team in Abbott’s Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) business unit. As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias or irregular heartbeats.

About the Role
The Manufacturing EngineeringSupervisor leads a team of Manufacturing Engineers and Engineering Technicians supporting the production of Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) catheters in a regulated medical device environment. This role drives daily engineering support, process stability, troubleshooting, and continuous improvementto ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality products.

What You’ll Work On

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with catheter manufacturing, cardiovascular devices, micro‑assembly, polymers, bonding, or braiding.
  • Strong background invalidation, documentation, risk management, and structured problem‑solving (DMAIC, 8D, 6 sigma).
  • Ability to lead in a fast‑paced environment with strong ownership and communication skills.
