  • Facilitate and participate in feasibility studies alongside development engineering to build the product validation and test requirements and equipment to support manufacturing.
  • Follow closely and manage the steps from development to full production including calling for a design freeze, pre‑production test and validation builds (pilot builds), lead cross‑functional communication between development, procurement, manufacturing, quality, and field operations.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules for design freezes for Bill of Materials (BOM) release, long lead time orders and risk buys.
  • Evaluate new production runs to identify room for improvement of specifications, workmanship, and product design.
  • Be “first line of defense” for manufacturing issues and escalate through appropriate chains of communication to address them in a timely fashion.
  • Review designs to identify opportunities for improvement prior to release to production.
  • Review, create, and update documentation for high volume procurement such as drawings for cables, plastic parts (printed and injection molded), machined parts, sheet metal, and welding.
