Job summary

Dauch is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Bowling Green, OH facility. This role focuses on developing, implementing, and maintaining optimal manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production and high quality.

You will lead lean initiatives, collaborate with design for manufacturability teams, and drive continuous improvement projects while ensuring safety and compliance with quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years in a manufacturing engineering role (automotive preferred).
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
• Proficiency in CAD software for design and analysis of manufacturing processes and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, equipment, and layouts for new and existing products.
• Conduct time studies, process capability studies, and value stream mapping to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
• Develop and implement SOPs, work instructions, and process control plans.
• Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability and input on DFM principles.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage capital equipment projects, including specification, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, SMED) to drive operational excellence.
• Work with quality assurance to establish and monitor quality control parameters.

Job Description

• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process control plans.
• Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products and provide input on design for manufacturing (DFM) principles.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage capital equipment projects, including specification, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
• Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, SMED) to drive operational excellence.
• Work with quality assurance to establish and monitor quality control parameters and ensure product compliance.
• Provide technical support and training to production personnel.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality regulations.

Required Skills And Education
