Job summary

Trio Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead challenging aerospace fabrication and assembly on the Carson, CA shop floor. You will mentor machinists, solve complex manufacturing issues, and push continuous improvements across processes and products.

You will own projects end-to-end, collaborate with design, quality, and production teams, and ensure safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills and willingness to work directly on the shop floor.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards such as AS9100 and NADCAP.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming.
  • Knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly processes in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with production, machining, maintenance, quality, and design teams for timely delivery.

SUMMARY

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer requires all hands-on to solve complex manufacturing challenges, leads, and mentors team members. Develops and optimizes manufacturing processes. Works directly on the shop floor, troubleshooting, repairing, and ensuring the smooth execution of day-to-day operations. Ensures all projects are driven through all phases of development and execution while collaborating with vendors, customers, and upper management.

DUTIES
  • Provide engineering and manufacturing mentorship, guidance and support for machinists in achieving production goals.
  • Support product design and process improvements to drive enhancements.
  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on support to resolve manufacturing challenges.
  • Take full ownership of manufacturing projects, from initial concept and design through development, implementation, and production.
  • Ensure projects are executed efficiently, meeting deadlines, quality standards, and time requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for project-related issues, coordinating with all management and team members to ensure success.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes for aerospace components to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Lead the development of work instructions, process documentation, and training materials.
  • Work with Quality Assurance in conducting root cause analysis of manufacturing defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Actively engage in day-to-day production to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate daily with supporting departments, including production, machining, maintenance, quality, and design engineering, to ensure timely delivery of products in the correct quantities.
  • Serve as a liaison between engineering and production to ensure seamless communication and alignment on priorities.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry.
