Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Computer/Controls Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in industrial automation or plant-floor systems.
• Experience owning complex controls problems and leading projects.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and schematics reading.
• Strong programming, analytical, and documentation skills.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced production environment and make decisions under time pressure.
• Ability to influence across functions and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Own controls performance and reliability of assigned processes and equipment.
• Diagnose, contain, root-cause, and permanently resolve issues.
• Lead controls design for new equipment and continuous-improvement projects.
• Coordinate with OEMs, system integrators, contractors; close open issues.
• Apply GM standards for controls, electrical, network, safety, cybersecurity, and docs.
• Integrate new technologies and plant-floor systems while preserving uptime.
• Use data-driven problem solving to improve OEE, downtime, cycle time, scrap, first-time quality, energy use, operator safety.
• Develop standard work, docs, training, backups, lessons learned.
• Mentor engineers and cross-functional partners on controls.
• Provide production support across shifts.
