Actalent is seeking a highly experienced Purchasing Specialist/Buyer in Hopewell Junction, NY, to procure materials, components, and services for production needs. The role requires ERP/MRP experience and strong supplier management to drive cost-effective procurement strategies.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Production Planning, and Quality teams to ensure material availability, optimize supplier performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience purchasing technical, engineered, or custom-manufactured components.
• Proven ability to negotiate pricing, supplier agreements, and delivery terms.
• Experience evaluating supplier performance and managing vendor relationships.
• Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Office suite.
• Strong communication skills across multiple departments.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsabilités

• Procure raw materials, components, supplies, and services to support production schedules.
• Generate and manage purchase orders with timely and accurate placement.
• Monitor inventory levels to maintain material availability and reduce excess inventory.
• Expedite critical orders and address material shortages proactively.
• Develop and strengthen supplier relationships and qualify new suppliers.
• Collaborate with vendors to resolve delivery issues and invoice discrepancies.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contracts to optimize value.
• Analyze purchasing requirements, forecasting, and demand plans.
• Support inventory optimization and supply chain risk management.
