Job description

You will work within the Engineering organization - working closely with Engineering leadership to drive various teams to deliver releases, features, and services to market. You will define and deliver on KPIs for the organization, as well as driving strategic operational programs. Bringing a level of expertise with software development, product, business analytics and reporting is a requirement. You have a background in Technical Program Management in a SaaS and agile environment.

About the Team

In this role, you will report directly to the Sr Director of Technical Programs in Engineering and be responsible for the success of key software releases at Nutanix. You will serve as a credible and trusted leader, delivering high-quality software releases to customers on time and with precision.

Your Role

  • Lead the success of key software releases at Nutanix, ensuring on-time delivery with high quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of software releases from concept through to General Availability (GA), leading a cross-functional team of Product Managers, Engineering, Quality Engineering (QE), and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage the release master plan, including schedule, dependencies, risks, and milestones, while using your technical expertise to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Serve as the authority on release life cycle processes, advocating for best practices, metrics, and high-quality standards across your delivery team.
  • Provide independent and accurate status reports on release progress to executive partners and confidently present updates in key checkpoint reviews.
  • Ensure legal compliance and oversee launch activities for release initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards of communication, productivity, and collaboration within the team.
  • Identify and mitigate cross-product roadblocks early during the planning phase in collaboration with the engineering team.
  • Regularly assess feature pipelines, completed work, and work quality to support informed decision-making on release delivery schedules.
  • Be the voice of the product programs to all stakeholders.

What You Will Bring

  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, project management, and program development.
  • Practical experience in Agile methodologies.
  • Expertise in program management for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products and cloud-based services, with a solid understanding of cloud technologies and DevOps practices.
  • Deep knowledge of software development and project/program management fundamentals, including scope, costs, schedules, change management, risk mitigation, and quality processes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional influencing, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in complex and ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment, driving change across Nutanix engineering teams.
  • A strong software engineering background with a passion for delivering high-performance, high-quality software.
  • Ability to craft strategic solutions for broad, interdependent challenges.
  • 3+ years of proven people management experience , with the ability to lead and motivate remote teams.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 185,600 and USD $ 370,800 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
