We are seeking a technical Senior product manager to lead a dynamic team including a team of Bas, designer, researcher and digital and AI consultants, dedicated to enhancing the customer experience for adult learners. In this role, you will drive strategies to ensure learners successfully persist in their journey toward GED completion. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize initiatives, develop user experience strategies across digital products, and ensure seamless user interactions. This role combines market knowledge, and analytical skills with creativity to enhance GED Testing Service digital footprint and drive business growth. The successful candidate will create a vision for managing digital properties such as websites and a mobile app to deliver the most good to the most learners in a cohesive way.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UX design, research, and technology product management, with a proven ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate across teams to deliver outstanding customer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of a professional team of business analysts and user experience designer.
- Ability to build products end-to-end , working with designers to develop UI components, user stories and wireframes and delivering requirements to developers, ensuring outcomes are consistent with business objectives. Your unique expertise enables you to understand the nuances of technical products.
- Develop User Experience Strategies : Gain a deep understanding of adult learners' needs and create optimal user experiences that support their GED journey and persistence.
- Product Roadmap Management : Maintain a comprehensive technology roadmap with input from consultants and senior leadership team, outlining all scheduled work for the Technology team. S/he will need to manage competing priorities across multiple projects, with inputs coming from various source, ensuring alignment with business priorities while correctly prioritizing tasks that do not directly impact learner persistence but offer high business value.
- Stakeholder Communication : Effectively communicate priorities and updates to both business and technology stakeholders. Strong presentation and collaborative skills are required.
- Bridge Business and Technology : Guide the team that translates complex business requirements into actionable technical features and drive the implementation of solutions that meet project timelines.
- Analytics and Reporting : Use analytics tools to track performance metrics, assess channel effectiveness, and make data-driven decisions for solving critical challenges.
- AI Strategy : Vet AI consultants for the best options to enhance the product portfolio and increase learner engagement. Work with Dev team to implement AI strategies with help from consultants and internal teams.
- Collaboration : Work with cross-functional teams, including data insights team, developers, and marketers, to execute campaigns and initiatives.
- Lead the Development of a Design System and Style guide: Develop enterprise patterns and systems to ensure a cohesive and engaging learner experience across all platforms and systems, and to drive efficiencies in the product development lifecycle.
- Budget Management : Oversee digital product budgets and optimize spending for the best return on investment.
Must-Have Attributes
- Experience : 5 years in Technology Product Management or a related role in software or technology or ed tech industries.
- UX Design Expertise : 3+ years of experience in UX design focused on customer success.
- Education : BS/BA in Engineering, Computer Science, Design or a related field or 8+ years of related work experience.
- Agile Methodology : Experience working with Agile frameworks and methodologies.
- Project Management : Strong project management skills are a plus.
- Critical Thinking : A naturally inquisitive and independent thinker with a proactive problem-solving mindset and strong attention to detail.
- Collaboration Skills : Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Technical, Design, and Business) to drive results.
- Prioritization Expertise : Ability to navigate competing priorities and align stakeholders around the most impactful initiatives.
- Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate technology roadmaps to stakeholders.
- Tools Proficiency : Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Figma, UserTesting and roadmap planning tools (e.g., Aha!) is strongly preferred, along with an understanding of Agile scrum.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, New York State, New York City, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $120,000 - $125,000.
