Job summary

Daley And Associates, LLC in Boston, MA seeks a Senior Manager of Technical Accounting to lead technical accounting matters, supervise staff, and support SEC reporting.

The candidate will bring 8+ years of experience, CPA certification, and strong ASC 606/842 knowledge. You will mentor teams, interact with external auditors, and help shape accounting policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA certification required
• 8+ years of experience in technical accounting, preferably in a public company environment
• Strong knowledge of ASC 606, ASC 842, Pre-IPO, and SEC reporting requirements
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
• Experience managing teams and project engagements
• Ability to hire, mentor, and develop teams
• Experience with financial reporting software and systems such as Workiva or SEC EDGAR

Responsibilities

• Provide technical accounting guidance to the organization, including research and interpretation of accounting standards, preparation of accounting memos, and analysis of complex accounting transactions
• Review and assist with the preparation of financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and other required filings
• Ensure compliance with new accounting standards, including ASC 606 and ASC 842, and guide their implementation
• Assist with the development of accounting policies and procedures and ensure adherence to those policies
• Manage teams and project engagements, including overseeing the work of staff and senior accountants
• Assist with due diligence for potential acquisitions and other special projects
• Provide guidance and training to team members on technical accounting matters
• Communicate with external auditors and other stakeholders on technical accounting matters
• Stay up-to-date on changes to accounting standards and regulatory requirements
