AVANGRID MANAGEMENT COMPANY, LLC. is seeking a Senior Manager - Corporate Tax in Boston, MA to lead high‑impact tax planning initiatives across federal, state and international matters.

You will mentor team members and partner with business units to deliver value with strategic tax insights. Responsibilities include coordinating with external counsel, guiding transfer pricing and structuring with partnerships/LLCs, and supporting M&A activity.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in corporate tax.
  • Renewable energy and regulated business experience preferred.
  • M&A experience needed.

Responsibilities

Job description

The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from:



  • $141,440 to $176,800 in Portland, ME

  • $155,600 to $194,500 in Orange, CT

  • $162,640 to $203,300 in Boston, MA

Purpose

The Senior Manager- Corporate Tax is involved in highly confidential tax planning initiatives and participates in a wide range of federal, state and international tax issues. This leader focuses on providing value added, quality tax information to our internal and external customers while mentoring and developing Corporate and other tax team members. This individual has the background and experience to successfully manage projects and independently work with business units. This role reports to the Director, Tax Planning, Audits and Risk Management.


Responsibilities


  • Manage complex tax planning initiatives and collaboratively work with business units and executive management to implement recommendations and actions.

  • Tax planning advisor for renewable and utility income tax matters and leads associated communication with external tax counsel on various topics including all relevant OB3 provisions.

  • Evaluate business opportunities and global strategic initiatives through documentation analysis in support of financing and investing decisions.

  • Provide strategic tax support to Corporate Development for entity and organization structuring heavily weighted with partnerships and LLCs.

  • Provide authoritative support as a subject matter expert on federal prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements for all relevant projects.

  • Perform technical tax research and analysis on various issues.

  • Compose memos that identify the tax implications of potential business investment, divestment and financing decisions as part of Management’s investment decision review process.

  • Manage tax development monitoring, communication and Management engagement on business relevant topics.

  • Lead due diligence for sales and acquisitions of assets and entities.

  • Respond to audit information data requests.

  • Furnish recommendations on global tax and transfer pricing issues, including review of inter-group financing arrangements and support of annual US transfer price study.

  • Assist with tax capacity forecasts and valuation allowance analyses, including support of technical tax matters that impact deductions, credits, and cash flow timing.

Skills And Requirements


  • Strong strategic, critical and innovative thinker

  • Expert knowledge of U.S. federal laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Experience with international tax issues, including transfer pricing, foreign parented structures, and cross-border transactions.

  • Project management experience

  • Strong analytical, leadership, and project management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a collaborative approach to engaging various levels of management and working across global teams.

  • Proficiency in tax research tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.


Experience/Training


  • 10+ years of relevant experience required

  • Substantial experience in renewable energy and some regulated business experience preferred

  • Meaningful contract review experience

  • Partnership allocation, basis related transactions experience

  • M&A experience needed


Education

B.S. in Accounting, Finance or J.D. required with Masters of Science in Taxation (MST) or Masters of Law (LLM) as relevant to other education
