Job description

We are looking for a Senior Manager System Software Engineer, Software Defined Networking to build highly performant and scalable Software Defined Networking (SDN) solutions and seamlessly integrate these with the rest of the Cloud Infrastructure to host Accelerated Compute applications like Hyperscale Multi-node training, Inference, Cloud Gaming, Cloud functions, etc.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design, develop, deploy, and operate next-generation horizontally scalable multi-tenant SDN network architecture with security in mind, and seamlessly integrate it with the rest of the Cloud Infrastructure.
• Architect Cloud reference designs and toolchains for NVIDIA customers and partners.
• Help craft Infrastructure-as-a-Service for networking that can provision performant virtual networks on demand to support VMs and containers in a multi-tenant environment. Provide high-level abstractions for users via Cloud APIs, and build vendor-neutral access layers for automated configurations of networking infrastructure.
• Design and develop software for monitoring the overall network health to ensure effective operations. Incorporate intelligence for tracking, regulating usage by tenants, analyzing data, and taking appropriate actions.
• Automate Cloud Infrastructure components and their interactions for maximum operational efficiency and reliability.

What we need to see:

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience), MS preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in host and infrastructure networking.
• 6+ years leading and managing diverse teams building highly performant and scalable SDN solutions.
• Deep understanding of networking protocols with hands-on kernel development experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in crafting network architecture for cloud/distributed systems.
• Experience with large-scale network setups and device configurations (switches/routers).
• Understanding of SR-IOV and Xen virtualization.
• Hands-on experience with Open Virtual Switch (or equivalent) and SDN solutions.
• Experience with network management and monitoring systems.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

• Experience with RDMA (InfiniBand or RoCE) fabrics.
• Understanding of container networking (Kubernetes, Docker).
• SRE experience.
• Experience with Tier 1 CSPs (AWS, Azure).
• Networking acceleration experience.

The base salary range is $272,000 - $425,500, determined by location, experience, and market pay. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits. NVIDIA accepts applications on an ongoing basis.
