Position Summary

The Strategic Planning team helps Retail Pharmacy define where we're headed, understand how we're performing, and turn strategic priorities into action. As a Senior Manager on the team, you'll work closely with leaders across Retail Pharmacy and CVS Health to shape plans, evaluate opportunities, develop recommendations, and advance initiatives that support growth, customer experience, and business performance. Depending on business priorities, the work may range from long-range planning and enterprise partnerships to strategic assessments, business cases, and high-priority initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex business problems, connecting ideas across teams, and influencing decisions that shape the future of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Business Direction

• Support annual and multi-year planning efforts, including goals, priorities, investments, and strategic roadmaps.
• Develop recommendations and assessments that help leadership make informed business decisions.
• Evaluate emerging opportunities, risks, and market trends that may impact the future direction of Retail Pharmacy.

Strategic Initiatives & Opportunity Development

• Identify opportunities to drive growth, improve the customer experience, and strengthen business performance.
• Lead strategic assessments, business cases, and initiative development efforts.
• Partner with teams across CVS Health to evaluate and advance new ideas and opportunities.

Enterprise Partnerships & Cross-Functional Leadership

• Build strong relationships across Retail Pharmacy and enterprise teams to identify shared opportunities and priorities.
• Facilitate alignment across stakeholders and help translate ideas into actionable plans.
• Support enterprise partnership development and strategic planning efforts.

Executive Decision Support

• Develop executive presentations, recommendations, and decision-support materials.
• Synthesize complex information into clear insights and practical actions.
• Support leadership discussions related to strategy, investment decisions, and business priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 7+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, business planning, business operations, corporate strategy, finance, product strategy, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience solving complex business problems and developing recommendations for senior leaders.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing decisions without direct authority.
• Strong analytical and structured thinking skills with the ability to connect data, insights, and strategy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing executive-level presentations and recommendations.
• Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Experience building relationships and collaborating across a highly matrixed organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare, retail, consumer, pharmacy, or related industry experience.
• Experience supporting annual planning, strategic planning, capital planning, or business planning processes.
• Experience evaluating growth opportunities, developing business cases, or supporting investment decisions.
• Experience working directly with executive leadership teams.

Pay Range

$82,940.00 - $182,549.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
