Description

We are currently hiring a Senior Manager Marketing in the MonoSol Strategic Innovation and Growth group. We are responsible for building the new growth in MonoSol – leveraging market research, front-end innovation, and white-space exploration. Therefore, this position will require a creative, independent, and adaptable market researcher and developer who can learn new subjects quickly.

This position will work closely with R&D members to build and validate new solutions for unmet needs in selected focus areas. The position requires high energy, enthusiasm, entrepreneurial thinking, strong analytical capability and an ability to showcase critical skills like agile innovation methodology, continuous learning and a curiosity driven mindset.

The role consists of roughly equal parts trends gathering, market research, consumer research, ideation/project leadership/management and market development, both as an individual achiever and as a part of the Growth team. Successful applicants will be able to competently lead market development for their specific growth areas and deliver project objectives.

This position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced marketing expert to lead projects for future innovations and white space exploration for the growth of this fast-paced company. This position reports to the Director of Strategic Innovation and Growth. The position carries with it a high degree of visibility to the Senior leadership team and requires effective communicate across all levels of the organization, including the General Manager and the investment board of the Company.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible to lead one or multiple opportunity areas selected and prioritized from the company’s’ innovation portfolio.
  • Lead the gathering of trends and market insights in selected opportunity areas to help identify and validate the consumer and customer unmet needs utilizing MonoSol’s Front-End innovation process.
  • Unearth deep consumer/customer insights using best practices in ethnography, research, prototyping, and experimentation to rapidly test and validate the consumer need, potential solution, and related business models.
  • Use contemporary market sizing and business modeling techniques to effectively determine the market opportunity.
  • Work closely with the R&D member to develop ideas and validate the concepts through internal and external testing.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with consumers and customers to help validate problem areas and value propositions.
  • Independently generate testable hypotheses and experimental plans which contribute towards achieving development project goals.
  • Confer with fellow team members on development projects, test results, and the development of nonstandard tests.
  • Leverage startup/entrepreneurial methodologies to move the opportunity from an idea through to product/market fit, commercialization and potentially into scaling the business.
  • Effectively present results to the growth teams and governing investment board members on a frequent basis by pitching and obtaining approval.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to other team members potentially leading to direct reports.
  • Requires a flexible work style and travel as necessary to perform assignments. Maximum of 20% travel required – domestic and abroad.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8+ Years of experience marketing, corporate strategy, product development, and/or business development in a corporation or startup
  • Preferred experience in leading innovation projects utilizing a stage-gate approach.
  • Proven track record of launching an idea internally or externally that required synthesis of disparate points of view/ insights/data and creating a cohesive narrative, plan and outcome.
  • Prior experience in working directly with consumers/customers and running experiments, in-market testing, and understanding what is required to launch a solution.
  • Proven success in breaking down complex problems into hypotheses, developing clear plans for validation, and using data to refine concepts.
  • Superior interpersonal, presentation and communication skills across all levels of senior management, including the executive levels.
  • Proven ability to challenge the status quo and drive innovation, totally comfortable operating in ambiguous and unregimented environments.
  • Motivated and action-oriented with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with market research and project management tools
  • Capable of working independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong team-oriented professional with good interpersonal skills and a positive outlook
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • The compensation range that is described below is the possible base pay compensation that the company believes in good faith that it will pay for this role at the time of posting based on job grade for the position. Individual compensation within this range is based on many factors such as years of experience etc. so the company might pay more or less than the posted range and it is understood that this range may be modified in the future.
  • In addition to base compensation, MonoSol provides a yearly incentive compensation bonus, a profit sharing bonus when eligible, a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurances, short term disability, long term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, term life insurance, voluntary term life insurance, transit flexible spending account (if applicable), employee assistance program, identity theft protection, 401k and paid time off (vacation and sick days).

Compensation range: $102,994.61 - $169,225.50
