Job summary

Special Olympics Florida in Tampa, FL seeks a Sr. Manager, Sports Training & Competition –West Coast to oversee year-round training and competition opportunities for athletes and volunteers in Areas 5 & 7. You will manage the sports staff, secure venues, and ensure programs align with regional goals.

The role requires coordinating with the Regional Director and supervising Managers of Sports Administration and Sports Training & Competition. Travel bi-weekly to regional offices is expected.

Qualifications

• BS/BA preferred or equivalent.
• 5+ years office experience.
• Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including tele/video conferencing.
• Extensive computer experience with word processing, database input/management, Microsoft Suite.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning and implementation of all Special Olympics Florida training and competitions in assigned areas.
• Directly manage sports training and competition in Areas 5 & 7.
• Secure Exhibition and Regional Games site venues, insurance, and EMT services.
• Supervise Managers of Sports Administration and Managers of Sports Training and Competition in assigned areas.
• Ensure staff are trained on SOFL policies and procedures and office protocols.
• Maintain knowledge of SOFL sports rules, policies, and procedures.
• Lead team meetings and post-event reviews; prepare post-event reports.
