Job summary

BD is seeking a Senior Manager, Source to Contract to drive demand analysis and delivery of Technology & Digital Solutions within Procurement. You will act as a key partner to Procurement, SME and Technology teams to shape priorities, deliver solutions, and ensure alignment with BD’s enterprise roadmaps.

The role requires deep procurement knowledge, 10+ years of experience, and demonstrated leadership in cross-functional delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 10+ years in business or IT with focus in Procurement.
  • Experience with SDLC docs, testing, release cycles, BRD, test scenarios, cutover.
  • Strong project management: charter, business case, plan, schedule, risk/issue, status.
  • Procurement knowledge: Sourcing, Contracting, Supplier Management.
  • Familiarity with Purchasing, Receiving, Payment, Reporting in Procurement.
  • Experience with 3+ tech tools: iValua, SAP ERP, Aravo, Sievo, Coupa, JDE, Mulesoft.
  • Solid understanding of integrated supply chain and procurement functions.
  • Ability to influence across silos and map vision to actions.
  • Clear, concise written and oral communications, leadership in teams.
  • Change management, continuous improvement, and cross-functional delivery expertise.
  • Collaborative work style across organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Source to Contract leaders to align on priorities and deliverables.
  • Build and maintain value-adding relationships for the TGS function.
  • Manage large, complex programs with minimal supervision.
  • Coordinate with multiple companies to deliver integrated solutions and ensure contract alignment.
  • Identify improvements with Business Process Owners and map to roadmaps.
  • Lead delivery teams across business, SI partners, and delivery areas to ensure first-time-right implementation.
  • Identify and manage risks; expand as needed.
  • Foster autonomy and trust within the team while leveraging resources.
  • Ensure solutions align with BD enterprise roadmaps and cross-TDS delivery teams.
  • Execute projects with progress monitoring, change management, readiness, and go-live support.
  • Measure value realisation with defined metrics and act as a continuous connector.
  • Support ticket resolution and escalation management.

Overview

The role of the Senior Manager, Source to Contract is to serve as the person responsible for analyzing demand as well as the delivery of Technology & Digital Solutions (TDS) solutions.


This individual will serve as a point person within Procurement, and will work with a team of business and technology personnel to conduct analysis, prepare appropriate solution direction, and deliver the work. Above all, this individual will be required to collaborate with internal and external experts to ensure that business priorities are shaped, prioritized, and delivered. This is a great opportunity for someone to facilitate bringing the appropriate technology, process, and workplace solutions together as they contribute to the Procurement agenda.


Responsibilities

The objective of this role is to actively partner with the Source to Contract Procurement Business Leaders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Technology teams to understand strategic priorities and complete the associated work deliverables/projects to advance those objectives.



  • Develop a deep knowledge of the Procurement function and end to end source to pay process, including key driver goals, short- and long-term roadmaps, key projects, and personnel

  • Establish and earn value-adding, partner relationship maturity for yourself and for the entire TGS function

  • Manage large and complex program higher than Million $ in the area of source to contract with limited supervision

  • Ability to manage 3 or more companies to deliver complex solutions and ensure contractual alignment on Roles & Responsabilities.

  • Partner with Business Process Owner for to identify improvement opportunities and create roadmap for indirect procurement.

  • Lead the overall program by managing associates from business, SI partners, core area of delivery to deliver first time right quality implementation

  • Ability to Identify potential risks and expand when necessary

  • Self autonomous person who can build trust with other team members and look for resources to overcome problems.

  • Work with other TDS Business Partners and TDS Core Areas of Delivery to ensure that solutions are not siloed and that they are informed by, and are integrated with, BD’s enterprise roadmaps

  • Partner with the Procurement teams and SMEs to plan new joint initiatives, evaluate proposals, and determine how they fit into roadmaps and priorities

  • Accountable for high quality solution deliverables for the large and complex Program.

  • Identify and define new opportunities to leverage technology and/or process re-design to advance business strategies that directly contribute to driving revenue growth, cost optimization and/or risk mitigation and compliance.

  • Develop strategies for optimal deployment and adoption of new technology capabilities, services and solutions across the business and/or the end-customers.

  • Work with other TDS business partner teams and external partner teams to define, document, analyze and prioritize existing and emerging business requirements

  • Complete the projects/improvements/deliverables needed to implement technology, processes, or services to meet business requirements including the documentation, testing and implementation

  • Work with and facilitate TDS partner teams to ensure delivery provides the desired outcomes

  • Execute projects and report progress, including consistent and effective communication, change management impact analysis, readiness and effectiveness, cutover and go-live support. This includes managing escalation and mitigating risk

  • Measure and communicate value realized on a periodic basis through defined and agreed upon metrics and supporting analysis. Serve as a continuous connector. Energized by a role that is focused on partnership and facilitation. Operates through the lens of what can we do to simplify and improve things.

  • Coordinate and support resolution of critical tickets


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree

  • 10+ years of experience in a business or IT including work in a technology function with focus in Procurement

  • Proficiency in system development life cycle documentation, testing and release cycle protocols including business requirements documentation, test scenarios/data/execution, cutover, hypercare, project planning and status reporting

  • Proficiency in project management basics: charter, business case development, project management plan and schedule, stakeholder management, communication planning, risk/issue management, status reporting and running team calls

  • Accomplished in multiple process and technology capabilities across Procurement, including Sourcing (Bidding, Contracting, Supplier Management)

  • Knowledgable in other areas within Procurement: Purchasing (Requesting, Purchasing, Receiving), Payment (Invoicing, Payment) and Reporting (Analytics, Compliance, Risk, Diversity)

  • Experience working with at least 3 the following Technology solutions: iValua, SAP ERP (SAP ECC6.0, S4 HANA, PowerBI), Aravo, Sievo, Coupa, JDE, Mulesoft

  • Good understanding and experience on overall Integrated Supply Chain, which includes manufacturing, procurement, EH&S, Sustainability, planning, and supply chain functions.

  • Ability to influence and break down silos within an organization as well across organizations

  • Ability to understand the mapping of organizational vision and contribute ideas

  • Ability to communicate complex business / technical challenges in a simplified manner

  • Must be a leader who can influence stakeholders in written and oral communications

  • Basic experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies and have the ability to formulate new programs to generate excitement and engagement. Ability to lead change using positive and collaborative methods.

  • Familiarity with continuous improvement and project management approaches, tools, and phases

  • Highly collaborative work style which includes working effectively across all organizational levels

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization and in overcoming ambiguity. Able to align and work with diverse regional stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications


  • SAP Implementation experience with familiarity on Procurement integration with other SAP Modules (i.e. Inventory Management, Finance, Sales and Distribution), Data Management (i.e. SAP MDG) and Third-Party Tools (i.e. Sabrix Tax, EDI/IDOC Interfacing)

  • Experience with enabling the digital procurement at an enterprise level is highly desirable.
