Job summary

Verizon is seeking a highly analytical and proactive Senior Manager to join our Cyber Security team in a hybrid arrangement. You will lead investigations across wireline and wireless accounts, perform root cause analyses, and coordinate with Executive Relations to manage high-visibility security actions.

The role requires 6+ years of relevant experience, a strong understanding of security operations, and the ability to translate complex findings into actionable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
• Solid understanding of wireless and wireline systems, operational workflows, and account security.
• Proven experience in fraud investigations, security, risk management, or threat operations.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data, recognize patterns, and isolate system outliers.

Responsibilities

• Deep-Dive Investigation & Root Cause Analysis: Investigate complex operational anomalies, fraud patterns, and security threats across wireline and wireless systems.
• Account Support & Communication: Partner closely with the Executive Relations Team to provide security support for sensitive account requests and manage urgent, high-visibility escalations.
• Data & Pattern Analysis: Review daily security events to identify suspicious internal or external threat actor behavior.
• Project & Work Stream Management: Simultaneously manage multiple complex projects and investigative work streams, ensuring timely deliverables.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong collaborative relationships across internal business units, technical partners, and cross-functional operational teams within Cyber Security, Corporate Security, Ethics and Investigations and other parts of the business.
• Process & System Adaptation: Continually adapt to rapid changes in systems, operational processes, data structures, and the broader threat landscape including identifying ways to implement AI into our daily operations.

What you'll be doing...

We are seeking a highly analytical and proactive Senior Manager to join our team in Cyber Security. In this role, you will be responsible for investigating complex operational, security, and fraud threats across our wireline and wireless accounts and systems. You will manage multiple critical work streams, perform root cause analyses, and serve as a security liaison to our Executive Relations Teams. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you are constantly learning, adapting to evolving threat landscapes, and translating complex findings into actionable security solutions, this role is for you. This position will require some scheduled and unscheduled after hours, weekend, and holiday coverage.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Deep-Dive Investigation & Root Cause Analysis: Investigate complex operational anomalies, fraud patterns, and security threats across wireline and wireless systems. Identify root causes and recommend strategies to improve program security and security across the business.

• Account Support & Communication: Partner closely with the Executive Relations Team to provide security support for sensitive account requests and manage urgent, high-visibility escalations. Provide oversight of account lock removal and account protections including SIM lock and port freeze.

• Data & Pattern Analysis: Review daily security events to identify suspicious internal or external threat actor behavior. Analyze large sets of operational and sensitive data to spot trends, establish baselines, and detect subtle outliers or emerging threats.

• Project & Work Stream Management: Simultaneously manage multiple complex projects and investigative work streams, ensuring timely deliverables and operational compliance.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong collaborative relationships across internal business units, technical partners, and cross-functional operational teams within Cyber Security, Corporate Security, Ethics and Investigations and other parts of the business.

• Process & System Adaptation: Continually adapt to rapid changes in systems, operational processes, data structures, and the broader threat landscape including identifying ways to implement AI into our daily operations.

What we're looking for...

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

• Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

• Solid understanding of wireless and wireline systems, operational workflows, and account security.

• Proven experience in fraud investigations, security, risk management, or threat operations.

• Communication & Executive Presence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven experience writing formal executive summaries under tight deadlines.

• Project Management & Relationship Building: Strong ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, manage competing priorities, and build trust across diverse teams.

• Technical & Querying Skills: Hands-on experience writing and executing SQL queries in production environments.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $98,500.00 - $188,000.00.
