As Senior Manager Safety, you will provide strategic leadership for the programs, systems, and culture that support that commitment. Performs all leadership duties including, but not limited to, hiring and rewarding talent, fostering an inclusive and safe workplace, partnering with employees to set clear goals and expectations, providing timely and specific feedback on performance, developing improvement plans to address performance gaps, addressing conflict with care and respect, identifying opportunities for growth and development, embracing and modeling a mindset of lifelong learning, ensuring employees report to work fit for duty, adhering to our Code of Conduct and modeling Alliant Energy’s Core Values at all times. Directs and guides the strategic and tactical activities of the safety function in accordance with objectives of the organization to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and operational requirements associated with the company, and to ensure operational performance expectations are met. Leads efforts for the design of cost-effective safety programs to advance the company’s strategic objectives. Engages in the development of safety strategies for the company. Designs and implements new approaches, policies, and procedures to influence continuous improvement in business objectives, productivity, and development within the company and safety department. Maintains an outward look to benchmark the organization against peers' and best-in-class practices related to safety solutions. Leads the execution of short- and long-term priorities, goals, and performance standards for safety-related matters, regularly evaluating results against these performance standards to assure achievement of business unit and company objectives. Keeps management informed of performance and recommends actions to improve. Serves as a strategic partner to other business units. Optimizes relationships and uses critical thinking to develop and execute safety strategies that align with business unit and company goals and strategies. Provides staff support to Executive Safety Leadership Team (ESLT) management of corporate safety culture. Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
Bachelor's Degree Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related area.
10 years of related experience.
6 years progressively more responsible supervisory experience Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and/or Certified Utility Safety Administrator (CUSA)
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Broad knowledge of safety discipline Strong knowledge of safety regulations and practices. Demonstrated critical thinking skills, and the ability to independently take initiative in identifying and anticipating business unit needs and making recommendations for implementation. Demonstrated ability to develop short- and long-term strategic plans and translate those plans into action. Ability to effectively provide consultation to employees and leadership on safety issues. Solid influencing and problem solving skills. Ability to develop trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results. Ability to understand the wider organization and its strategic objectives, as well as the environment and market in which the business operates. Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate multiple projects and work initiatives at one time. Ability to focus on accountability and working in an environment which demands strong deliverables along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Demonstrated effective leadership skills. Demonstrated financial skills. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skill.

Pay Range: $132,000-$182,000 This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
