Job summary

Apptronik seeks a Senior Manager of Mechanical Engineering to lead the Locomotion and Manipulation team, shaping the mechanical architecture and kinematics of Apollo’s mobility system.

You will mentor engineers, enforce CAD standards in Siemens NX, and ensure designs are manufacturable with mass production in mind. This role requires deep robotics expertise, strong leadership, and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience in robotics, aerospace, automotive, or advanced electromechanical systems.
• 3+ years of direct engineering management experience in a matrix organization.
• Strong hands-on background in mechanism design, kinematics, and high-torque actuators.
• Expert-level Siemens NX experience and top-down modeling for large assemblies.
• Experience transitioning R&D prototypes to manufacturable designs.

Responsibilities

• Hire, mentor, and scale a world-class mechanical engineering team.
• Oversee locomotion and manipulation hardware development and design reviews.
• Establish and enforce CAD standards and large-assembly practices in Siemens NX.
• Drive SWaP-C improvements and lightweighting while maintaining stiffness.
• Bridge prototype design to mass production with DFM considerations.
• Collaborate across Actuation, Controls, and Electrical teams to resolve conflicts.
