Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) is a world leader of focal plane arrays and flight-based vision systems supporting a myriad of defense, surveillance, space, and weather tracking applications. We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Manager, Requirements & Capabilities (R&C) to join our team in Goleta, California. The Senior Manager, R&C, serves a critical role in the RVS R&C organization, reporting to the Director, R&C - Space Imaging & Microelectronics (SIM). The Senior Manager will support the RVS R&C team and associated business opportunities for the RVS product lines.
What You Will Do
- Identify, and develop new business opportunities, shape customer requirements and position new business resources to achieve RVS growth objectives. Support development and marketing strategies to achieve business growth goals.
- Formulate and lead competitive strategies to win pursuits. Demonstrate and communicate a clear understanding of the strategic environment, in particular, customer needs, acquisition plans, competitor strengths, weaknesses and strategies. Collaborate with functional leaders and lead cross-functional proposal teams to ensure alignment with RVS roadmaps, capture and proposal strategies.
- Generate and implement customer contact plans and lead customer engagements. Focus on the customer, understand strategic environment, threat capabilities, problems, priorities, limitations, and requirements. Understand how the customer perceives current and future RVS capabilities and capacity gaps. Shape opportunities to promote Raytheon solutions.
- Lead and support internal strategy and proposal gate reviews. Clearly articulate opportunities, customer needs, capture strategies to RVS and executive leadership.
- Collaborate with RTX Global Government Relations (GGR) at the Federal, State/Local on Public Policy in their advocation and development of new technologies and our solutions
- Approximately 50% annual domestic travel for customer, industry and internal engagements
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree and 10+ years of Business Development, Program Management, Technical Leadership, Government Relations or Government Acquisition experience working within the aerospace and defense industry or an Advanced Degree and 7+ years’ experience
- Minimum of 3 years of business development, capture management or program management within a program office managing sensor systems or minimum of 3 years’ experience in DoD requirements
- Experience developing winning capture strategies, growing business opportunity pipelines, building strategic partner and customer relationships, leading customer and executive engagements, managing cross-functional proposal and/or program teams, driving performance schedules to achieve deadlines, managing investment budgets, conducting leadership briefings, and experience with US Government Planning, Programming, Budget and/or Execution (PPBE) and DOD acquisition processes
- Experience with Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) sensor systems or other Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR) sensor systems
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience in aerospace business development with EOIR systems. Technical acumen with the ability to learn and understand market-specific jargon and how it relates to RVS capabilities. Experience in proofreading, evaluating, and/or editing proposals and white papers.
- Ability to identify potential Raytheon growth opportunities and proven ability to develop effective professional relationships through personal influence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, relationship building skills and ability to work well in a team environment. Have the capability to effectively engage, establish and maintain strong professional networks and rapport. Possess good listening, coaching, presenting, motivating, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work using your own initiative. Driven to achieve results, solve problems, and deliver consistent high-quality results with an adherence to deadlines and schedules.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and workloads. Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced multitasking environment.
