Job summary

Exol is seeking a senior Reliability Engineering leader to own and scale reliability strategy for automated fulfillment and material handling across sites. You will establish enterprise reliability standards, identify critical assets, and lead root cause analyses to deliver permanent fixes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required.
  • 12+ years in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or asset performance roles.
  • Experience with automated or highly mechanized environments (robotics, AS/RS, conveyors, AGVs).
  • Experience influencing multi-site operations or enterprise programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own and scale the reliability strategy for automated fulfillment and material handling operations.
  • Establish enterprise reliability standards and performance expectations across sites.
  • Identify critical assets and failure risks, lead root cause analysis and fixes.
  • Design risk-based maintenance aligned to business impact.
  • Partner with Automation and Engineering teams to influence system design for reliability.
  • Define reliability data standards, KPIs, and reporting within CMMS.
  • Analyze downtime, performance trends, and cost drivers to support staffing, capital, and vendor decisions.
  • Support new site launches by ensuring reliability readiness and clean handoff to operations.
  • Standardize learnings to enable repeatable deployments at scale.
  • Lead OEM and vendor partnerships with governance and escalation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, IT, Safety, Finance, and Supply Chain to align reliability priorities.
  • Communicate risks, trends, and improvement opportunities clearly to senior leadership.

  • Identify critical assets and failure risks impacting throughput, safety, and cost, lead root cause analysis and permanent fixes.
  • Design risk-based maintenance approaches aligned to business impact and asset criticality.
  • Partner with Automation and Engineering teams to influence system design for long term reliability.
  • Define reliability data standards, KPIs, and reporting within CMMS and related systems.
  • Analyze downtime, performance trends, and cost drivers to support staffing, capital, and vendor decisions.
  • Support new site launches by ensuring reliability readiness, documentation, and clean handoff to operations.
  • Standardize learnings to enable repeatable, predictable site deployments at scale.
  • Lead OEM and vendor partnerships, including performance governance and escalation management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, IT, Safety, Finance, and Supply Chain to align reliability priorities.

What we need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Reliability, or related field) or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or asset performance roles.
  • Experience supporting automated or highly mechanized environments such as robotics, AS/RS, conveyors, AGVs, or automated material handling systems.
  • Proven experience influencing multi-site operations or enterprise programs preferred.
  • Startup, ramp up, or greenfield launch experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of reliability principles, asset lifecycle management, and failure analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical issues into business risk and financial impact.
  • Experience working with CMMS platforms and performance reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to lead through influence rather than direct authority.
  • Clear, concise communication skills suitable for executive audiences.
Physical & Environment Requirements
  • Ability to work in active warehouse and automation environments, including multi-level structures and elevated platforms.
  • Must be able to comply with all safety requirements, including PPE, LOTO, and fall protection standards.
  • Extended onsite presence may be required during critical launches or stabilization periods.
  • Up to 60% travel may be required.
  • Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
