Job description

Overview

We are partnered with a fast-growing, U.S.-based Independent Power Producer (IPP) backed by a long-term infrastructure investor. The company focuses exclusively on the development, ownership, and operation of utility-scale renewable energy projects - including solar and storage - across North America. With several gigawatts in the pipeline and a leadership team composed of seasoned industry professionals, the business is scaling rapidly and building internal financing capabilities to support ongoing growth.

This newly created position is a high-impact opportunity for a Senior Project Finance professional to lead the execution of tax equity and debt transactions for utility-scale solar and storage assets. You’ll play a key role in building the company’s internal financing function and will work directly with the executive leadership team to scale the business.

Responsibilities
  • Lead full-cycle project financing transactions—structuring, negotiating, and closing tax equity, construction debt, and back-leverage for utility-scale assets.
  • Own the financing process end-to-end: partner engagement, diligence, documentation, modeling, internal approvals, and closing.
  • Develop and implement internal project finance infrastructure, including processes, tools, and reporting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (development, legal, engineering) to ensure bankability and optimize capital stack.
  • Represent the company with financing partners, demonstrating polish and leadership in high-stakes conversations.
  • Stay on top of market trends, IRA-related financing structures (e.g., PTC, ITC, transferability), and capital provider dynamics.
Candidate Profile – Priority Requirements
  • Proven Deal Execution: Closed at least one tax equity and one debt/equity financing for utility-scale projects; significant involvement from origination to close.
  • Strategic Builder: Experience creating financing processes and structures from the ground up, ideally in a scaling business or new platform.
  • Project Finance Expertise: 5–8+ years of experience in renewable energy or infrastructure project finance, with strong utility-scale solar exposure.
  • Institutional Background: Time spent at a major IPP, investment platform, or infrastructure fund; brings best practices and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Executive Communication: Comfortable leading conversations with external investors, lenders, and internal leadership; confident and credible under pressure.
  • Culture Fit: Professional, collaborative, and excited to contribute in a lean, entrepreneurial environment.
Why Join?
  • Be a core contributor to the scaling of a top-tier renewable IPP with long-term capital and vision.
  • Direct exposure to executive leadership and decision-making across the business.
  • High degree of ownership, autonomy, and impact.
  • Competitive compensation and a mission-driven, high-performance culture.
