Overview
A Day in Your Life at MKS: We are seeking a Sr. Manager, Project Engineering, who will lead the management and execution of cross‑functional Product Development Process (PDP) projects, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Embrace and embody positive organizational cultural change, model effective mindsets, and mentor junior technical and professional staff.
- Deliver PDP programs and projects against scope, schedule, cost, resources, and quality.
- Collaborate with internal and external cross‑functional stakeholders and customers to gather and analyze requirements for PDP and project management (PM) planning and execution.
- Create and manage the project master plan and schedule throughout the PDP.
- Proactively anticipate and identify problems (“looking around corners”) during PDP planning and execution and implement solutions.
- Utilize and leverage existing PDP and PM processes and systems to communicate program and project status, providing transparency to stakeholders, management, and executives for data‑driven decision making.
- Implement and participate in improving the organization’s PM and Project Portfolio Management (PPM) methodology, processes, governance, and escalation, including KPIs and standard reports and dashboards.
- Recommend and participate in adoption of technology solutions that enhance PM capabilities.
- Participate in organization continuous improvement efforts.
Skills You Bring
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Physics (other technical degrees considered).
- 10+ years of experience as a program or project manager in a technical environment (hardware product development, manufacturing, or R&D).
- Technical expertise in capital equipment, system or modules PDP; semiconductor, laser or optics technology or equivalent.
- Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, OnePlan, Jira, Planview.
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse and globally dispersed teams and manage multidisciplinary tasks.
- Expertise in project controls: schedule planning, development and management, resource allocation and critical path analysis.
- Strong leader with conflict resolution and team‑building skills.
- Strong influencing, problem‑solving, and administrative abilities.
- Customer interaction experience is desirable; willingness to interact with customers is a must.
- Entrepreneurial and creative approach to problem resolution, with adherence to process.
Preferred
- Completion of formal Project Management training and Program Management certification (PMI, IPMA, etc.).
- Experience with cloud‑based solutions, enterprise resource planning (ERP) and product life cycle management (PLM).

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as necessary (estimated <10%).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Pay Range: $170,000 to $205,000 per year.
- Discretionary annual bonus.
