Job summary

Exyte US, Inc. seeks a Senior Manager, Cost Control to lead the regional cost control function across the project portfolio. You will establish standards, govern budgets, forecast cash flow, and ensure earned value analysis is applied consistently.

The Senior Manager, Cost Control leads the regional cost control function across the business area. The role:

• is accountable for establishing, governing, and continuously improving cost control standards, project cost reporting, forecasting, budget management, cash flow visibility, and earned value analysis across the regional project portfolio.
• provides leadership to Senior Cost Controllers, Cost Controllers and project-based cost control teams, ensuring that project cost performance is accurately measured, risks and opportunities are clearly reported, and commercial project management teams receive reliable information to support timely business decisions.
• supports tendering and project setup by using historical cost data, benchmark information, and commercial analysis to strengthen tender evaluations, budget formation, and project execution readiness.
• is expected to lead through both direct line management and functional influence, setting expectations for cost control quality, reporting discipline, team capability, and commercial accountability across the regional project portfolio.
• supports Project Managers and Department Managers in MMS related matters by providing user support and training.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

Regional cost control leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop the regional cost control team, including Senior Cost Controllers, Cost Controllers, MMS Coordinator and indirect project cost control resources.
• Align cost control resources with project and business needs across territories and business units.
• Build capability within the team through training, process guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback.
• Promote a consistent cost control approach across all regional projects.

Cost governance, budgeting, and project setup

• Establish and govern project cost control standards from tender handover through project execution.
• Ensure project budgets and cost breakdown structures are properly developed from successful tender submissions.
• Align cost breakdown structures with project schedules and work breakdown structures.
• Support the setup of earned value analysis, cost performance tracking, percentage-of-completion reporting, and cash flow forecasting.
• Ensure budget baselines, forecast updates, cost movements, and change impacts are clearly documented and controlled.

Forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis

• Lead the monthly commercial and cost control reporting cycle across the regional project portfolio.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and consistent reporting of cost forecasts, value forecasts, cash flow, risks, opportunities, budget status, and cost performance.
• Review and challenge project forecasts, assumptions, cost-to-complete estimates, and risk allowances to ensure that reported project positions are realistic and evidence-based.
• Identify trends, variances, and early warning indicators affecting project financial performance.
• Provide clear analysis and recommendations to support project and regional management decisions.
• Participate in Utilization Review Meetings and provide recommendations based on MMS data analysis.

Tender and pre-contract commercial support

• Support tender submissions by using historical cost performance data to benchmark pricing and evaluate tender assumptions.
• Review the commercial and cost-related aspects of tender documents before submission.
• Support the preparation of commercial inputs for tender submissions.
• Provide risk and opportunity analysis on the commercial, financial, and fiscal aspects of tender proposals.
• Help ensure tender cost assumptions are realistic, traceable, and aligned with delivery requirements.

Process improvement, controls, and stakeholder engagement

• Define, improve, and train team members on cost control processes and reporting workflows.
• Strengthen consistency, transparency, and accountability in cost control practices across the region.
• Provide assurance that cost reporting, budget control, and forecasting practices comply with internal governance requirements and support consistent regional commercial reporting.
• Support effective communication between project management, commercial project management, finance, and regional leadership.
• Act as the senior interface for cost control matters with internal stakeholders and, where required, external clients or consultants.

Decision-making authority

• Approves regional cost control templates, reporting standards, and forecast review processes.
• Reviews and challenges project cost forecasts before management submission.
• Recommends corrective actions where cost reporting, forecast quality, or budget control does not meet expectations.

Show your expertise

Requirements:

• Degree in quantity surveying, business administration, engineering, construction management, finance, or a related discipline.
• More than 10 years of relevant experience in commercial project management, cost control, project controls, quantity surveying, or financial project management.
• Proven experience in leading teams across multiple projects, business units, or territories.
• Strong experience in project cost forecasting, budget control, earned value analysis, cash flow forecasting, and management reporting.
• Experience in engineering, construction, advanced technology facilities, data centres, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or other complex project environments would be an advantage.
