Our mission is to cultivate a culture of security at Affirm, enabling the company to succeed in building honest financial products. The Senior Manager, Security Awareness & Risk role is crucial to this mission. This person should approach security awareness from a behavioral perspective, strategizing on how to reduce human risk. The Security Risk Management team develops governance, risk, and compliance processes, conducts audits, and ensures data protection and compliance in technologies and business processes.

What You'll Do
  1. Build a security culture by providing training and guidance on cybersecurity best practices.
  2. Lead complex security awareness projects to secure Affirm’s products, services, and platform.
  3. Collaborate with Product & Engineering teams to create security content within the Affirm App and website.
  4. Design and manage Affirm’s Security awareness program aligned with industry standards and regulations.
  5. Track progress, resolve dependencies, assess risks, communicate with stakeholders, and drive project goals.
  6. Facilitate Tech Org IT & Security meetings.
  7. Communicate security risks effectively to non-experts to inform business decisions.
  8. Manage security communications to internal teams and customers.
  9. Create engaging security awareness materials like newsletters, videos, and training modules.
  10. Develop and disseminate security documentation to stakeholders and employees.
  11. Coordinate with Security teams and stakeholders on remediation of risks, incidents, and vulnerabilities.
  12. Partner with Product Security and enhance Security Champions program.
  13. Use behavioral metrics to measure Security Awareness and human-related risks.
What We Look For
  1. Understanding of behavior science or psychology.
  2. Excellent communication skills, with clear and actionable materials.
  3. Experience in developing security awareness programs.
  4. Minimum 6 years in risk management, information security, or related fields working with technical teams.
  5. Experience with e-learning platforms and creating engaging training content.
  6. Strong project management and collaboration skills.
  7. Problem-solving drive and innovative thinking.
  8. Experience working with diverse teams and perspectives.
  9. Knowledge of risk control frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, SOC, PCI DSS) and security practices.
Additional Details

Pay Grade: N

Equity Grade: 9

Base salary range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT): $190,000 - $240,000; (Other US states): $169,000 - $219,000.

Note: Visa sponsorship not available. Affirm is remote-first, with some roles requiring occasional office work.
