Job Description

Senior Manager – Warehouse & Production Control Operations & Launch

Position Summary

The Senior Manager of Warehouse & Production Control Operations & Launch is responsible for end‑to‑end material flow performance, from production planning and material control through warehouse execution and customer shipment. This role leads daily operations while ensuring schedule adherence, inventory accuracy, service level attainment, and cost control. A critical accountability is the successful transition of operations from the existing Mt. Juliet, TN warehouse to a newly built facility in Lebanon, TN, with a planned go‑live in June 2027. The Senior Manager will lead startup readiness, execute a seamless cutover, stabilize operations post‑launch, and transition the site to standardized daily execution. This role also drives operational standardization as a foundation for future automation while maintaining a strong safety culture and improving KPIs across production control and warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • End‑to‑End Operations Ownership: Own operational performance across production control, material planning, warehouse execution, and outbound service. Ensure alignment between customer demand, production schedules, material availability, and warehouse capacity. Act as the senior escalation point for service, inventory, supply, or execution risks during both steady state and transition periods.
  • Production Control & Material Planning: Lead production planning, scheduling, and material control activities to support demand and capacity constraints. Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production and shipment plans. Ensure material availability for uninterrupted production and customer fulfillment. Control inventory levels to meet turns, aging, and working capital targets. Monitor and improve KPIs such as schedule attainment, backorders, inventory accuracy, and customer service level. Coordinate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sales, and Logistics to manage demand variability and supply risk. Support transition planning for the June 2027 warehouse move, including inventory positioning, cutover planning, and production continuity.
  • Warehouse Daily Operations Leadership: Lead all warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control. Execute daily operations safely, efficiently, and cost‑effectively across all shifts. Ensure achievement of safety, quality, service, and cost targets. Monitor and improve KPIs such as productivity, labor utilization, fill rate, cycle time, and accuracy. Drive workforce planning, staffing models, labor standards, and shift execution. Resolve operational disruptions quickly to protect production and customer service. Maintain compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and audit requirements.
  • Warehouse Transition & Launch (Mt. Juliet → Lebanon | June 2027): Lead full operational transition. Develop and execute detailed transition and cutover plans to ensure continuity of supply and customer service. Ensure staffing, training, standard work, systems (WMS/ERP), and layout readiness prior to go‑live. Coordinate closely with Engineering, IT, Manufacturing, and Transportation. Lead go‑live execution, issue resolution, and rapid stabilization following the June 2027 startup. Decommission or exit Mt. Juliet warehouse operations in alignment with transition plans and business timelines. Transition the Lebanon facility from startup mode to stable, standardized daily operations.
  • Standardization & Automation Readiness: Lead process standardization across both production control and warehouse functions ahead of the Lebanon launch. Develop and sustain SOPs, labor standards, visual management, and process controls. Partner with Engineering and IT to prepare processes, data structures, and workflows for future automation. Support automation testing and implementation without disrupting daily execution.
  • Continuous Improvement & Cost Management: Implement continuous improvement methodologies to eliminate waste and improve material flow. Optimize warehouse layout, slotting, and production‑to‑shipment flow. Use data analytics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. Drive sustainable productivity gains and operating cost reductions before and after the transition.
  • People & Organizational Leadership: Lead and develop production control and warehouse managers, planners, supervisors, and frontline leaders. Build a culture of accountability focused on safety, execution discipline, and engagement. Coach leaders on performance management and talent development. Support succession planning and long‑term organizational capability building.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience across warehouse operations and/or production control.
  • Strong experience with ERP/MRP, WMS, labor management systems, and KPI reporting.
  • Proven leadership in high‑volume, multi‑shift operations.
  • Strong financial acumen with budget ownership and cost control experience.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
Desired Experience
  • Leadership of warehouse transitions, relocations, or greenfield launches.
  • Experience supporting or implementing warehouse automation or robotics.
  • End‑to‑end material flow ownership from planning through customer shipment.
  • Change management and operational stabilization expertise.
  • Salary Range $160,000.00 to $180,000.00
