Job summary

Healthfirst is seeking a Senior Manager of Product Management and Strategy to drive market growth across Medicaid/Medicare. You will collaborate across departments to develop and execute growth strategies, support management meetings, and optimize portfolio performance.

The role emphasizes P&L accountability, KPI tracking, and cross-functional execution. You will lead reporting and competitive intelligence initiatives, partner with finance, sales, and marketing, and influence senior leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated high level of emotional intelligence
  • 3–5 years of experience in healthcare or strategy consulting
  • Ability to identify opportunities and develop action plans
  • Product development, finance, analytics, or project management experience
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, time management, and quality delivery
  • Ability to manage cross-functionally and directly
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience presenting to large cross-functional teams including C-suite
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a market growth strategy for Medicaid/Medicare portfolio
  • Prepare presentations for management meetings, Board & Committee meetings, and quarterly reviews
  • Lead Monthly Operating Review agenda and track progress toward budget goals
  • Analyze enrollment landscapes and provide growth insights and recommendations
  • Collaborate with finance, sales, and marketing on market growth and retention plans
  • Identify cohorts and opportunities to drive short- and long-term membership growth
  • Own projects focusing on profit and loss accountability
  • Provide ongoing reporting metrics to guide growth and efficiencies

Senior Manager of Product Management and Strategy

The Senior Manager of Product Management and Strategy is responsible for working cross functionally to develop, assist in execution, and continuously improve upon a market growth strategy that supports a profitable growth across the entire Medicaid/Medicare portfolio. Support developing presentations for on‑going management meetings including the 3‑Strategic Plan, Board & Committee meetings, Quarterly Business Reviews and other management meetings as needed. Lead the Monthly Operating Review agenda setting and work collaboratively across all departments to identify discussion items as well as progress tracking towards Budget goals Helps the team set up the necessary tracking of key performance indicators Manage competitive intelligence including enrollment landscape providing insights and recommendations for future growth Work collaboratively with financial analysis, sales, and marketing to develop market growth and retention plans to achieve membership objectives Optimize operational efficiency of the Medicaid/Medicare portfolio Identify key cohorts and opportunities for achieving short‑and‑long‑term membership growth goals across products and service areas Serve as the primary owner of identifying and executing projects and strategies that focus on profit and loss accountability Manage on‑going reporting metrics aimed at providing insights and recommendations for future growth and efficiencies.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated high level of emotional intelligence
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in healthcare or strategy consulting
  • Ability to identify areas of opportunity, develop a plan of action
  • Product development, finance, analytical, or project management experience
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, ability to effectively manage time, and commitment to developing quality work quickly
  • Ability to effectively manage cross‑functionally and directly
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience presenting to large cross‑functional teams including C‑suite or executive leaders
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare products
  • Master's degree in public health or business administration.
  • Experience working with a hospital, health insurance company, healthcare focused government agency or non‑profit (e.g. DOH) or other company operating in healthcare space (including start up)
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence and Data Visualization Tools (such as Qlikview, Tableau).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage up and across multiple departments of a large organization.
  • Supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and adjust to changes quickly while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong problem solving and effective decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion of sensitive and/or confidential matters.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment

Hiring Range*: Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $122,900 - $188,020 All Other Locations (within approved locations): $105,100 - $160,480

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
