Position Summary...
Lead and navigate with applied expertise and an in-depth understanding of the highly complex world of global logistics services, including but not limited to the international freight forwarding and the NVOCC industry.
Cross functionally support the commercial strategy for global logistics services provided by Walmart to third-party customers.
Lead the development and implementation of a procurement strategy for specific service categories (for example, Ocean FCL, LCL, Air Freight and Port Drayage).
Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and fostering a culture of belonging.
Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.
Ensure business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.
What you'll do...
- Category Strategy and Management: Identify savings opportunities and plan, make recommendations, and execute for high-spend, complex, mature categories. Ensure delivery against business goals by making recommendations to reduce risks to the business. Review category segmentation and suggest optimization based on category needs and changes. Assess plan effectiveness and adapt based on performance and industry and category trends. Build business cases as needed to influence leadership on category strategy. Develop and track supplier performance metrics and influence supplier selection. Recommend process changes as required. Build Total cost of ownership / cleansheet models and make informed buying decisions.
- Source Selection: Gather supplier intelligence to understand changes in industries and products. Position category for future source selection and business allocation based on supplier intelligence. Make recommendations to mitigate risks in more complex local and global supply chains. Manage complex events and categories and drive cost efficiencies. Execute multiple business plans and projects simultaneously. Create RF(x) applications (e.g., auction, proposal). Deliver financial modeling options. Conduct financial analysis of total ownership and landed cost scenarios. Recommend risk mitigation measures related to sourcing.
- Problem Solving: Lead efforts for complex and ambiguous problems, question assumptions, and identify potential consequences and risks. Use various problem-solving approaches. Devise and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Collaborate across functions to implement solutions. Use expertise to proactively prevent problems.
- Data & Digital Literacy: Evaluate and communicate requirements for analytical tools. Apply advanced analytics techniques for real-time decisions and insights. Define data governance policies and validate data quality. Identify challenges and introduce new technologies, supporting change management. Partner with Data Science teams to build and implement solutions.
- Financial Acumen: Understand business impacts on financials. Assess realities, identify opportunities, forecast, and mitigate risks. Perform analyses to optimize performance. Communicate impacts clearly.
- Negotiation: Conduct negotiations, lead fact-based decisions, and educate on strategies. Mitigate risks, address objections, and ensure compliance with policies. Escalate legal or regulatory issues as needed. Communicate effectively to influence outcomes.
- Contract Management: Interpret and review contract terms. Support drafting of large or complex contracts. Identify risks, enforce terms, and support legal compliance. Manage contract lifecycle.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Develop new suppliers, maintain relationships, and conduct reviews. Improve supplier performance, address issues, and manage risks. Serve as escalation point for major issues.
- Influential Communication: Lead discussions, present to diverse audiences, and influence outcomes. Use data and frameworks to build narratives. Act as a trusted advisor, provide feedback, and adapt based on input.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00, with additional bonuses and possibly stock options.
