Job summary

Ash Stevens, LLC, a division of Piramal Pharma Solutions, seeks a Manager, Process Development to lead the chemistry development group at its Detroit and Riverview sites. You will plan and organize activities in Chemical Process Development to meet timelines, specifications, and cGMP terms, and provide expertise to QA, QC, Safety, and Operations teams, while interfacing with clients on project status.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum ten years' experience in research and chemical development of drugs and fine chemicals.
• Wide knowledge of classic and modern synthetic methods (excluding Chemical Engineers).
• Up to five years of successful track record building and managing research teams.
• Familiar with project management tools and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Assess new projects to identify best chemical route and resources for development.
• Organize department work to meet timeliness, specs, and FDA requirements.
• Conduct literature searches and lab work to identify potential routes and propose optimal solutions.
• Develop in-process methods to monitor chemical processes.
• Direct development of chemical manufacturing processes that are safe and compliant with cGMP.
